I enjoy working on commissions and sharing the joy in your flowers, garden and home.  These are important to me and I love seeing what is meaningful or joyful to you.

My commission work usually falls into three categories, one is my coloured pencil flower portraits and the other is my multi-media works of gardens and houses and finally travel or holiday pictures.  I price depending on the type, size and complexity of the work.  You will see indicative prices below to give you a guide, but more complex works my increase the price.  All this will be discussed before any work is commissioned.  Please use the contact below to discuss a commission idea that you might have.

 

Flower Portraits – Coloured Pencil and Ink

 

 

Do you have a favourite bloom that you grow and would like a portrait created of so you can enjoy it year round?  I love to garden and am so excited when my favourite flowers are in full bloom.  I always hope that I will have some to admire in the garden and others to cut and bring indoors.  Here is yet another way to continue to enjoy these beauties by commissioning their portrait.

The work is done on beautiful, archival quality, cotton paper, usually white, but white flowers show up better on bone coloured papers.  I am happy to work from good quality photos; so it is as simple as taking a number of photos from different angles and sending them to me.  The price depends on the size and complexity of the work, the prices here are an indication and may vary.

• A4 – 210 x 297 mm = $400
• A3 – 297 x 420 mm = $500
• A2 – 420 x 594 mm = $600
• A1 – 594 x 841 mm = $800

House or Garden

 

 

 

 

I love doing drawings of houses and special views in gardens.  There is nothing so lovely as seeing your house or garden brought to life in a drawing and these make a really special and unique gift.  I work from good quality photos or if you are in Melbourne or near Castlemaine in Victoria I am happy to do a site visit to talk about the best composition and angle and take the required photos. (Any chance to visit a new garden).  This work is also done on beautiful, archival quality, cotton paper, usually white.  I use ink and water soluble pencils or crayons.  The price depends on the size and complexity of the work, the prices here are an indication and may vary.

• A5 – 148 x 210 mm = $250
• A4 – 210 x 297 mm = $350
• A3 – 297 x 420 mm = $450
• A2 – 420 x 594 mm = $550

Travel or Holiday Pictures

When I am holidays I love doing drawings of my new surroundings, this captures the memories in a whole different way.  I can get carried away and fill travel journals with my pictures, see below.  Second best to going travelling myself is working on drawings of other peoples travels.  Do you have any travel or holiday photos of scenes or special locations that you would like me to turn into beautiful paintings that will always remind you of that special place and time.  Prices are similar to House and Garden paintings.  Contact me below and we can discuss your proposed commission.

Gift Certificates

These commissions make the perfect gift for any gardener, lover of flowers or botanical art.  Each gift certificate comes with a lovely hand written card featuring a similar art work, personalised for the person receiving such a gift.  It makes an attractive gift in itself.

Commission Process

My commissioning process is

1. Contact me through email below and we discuss the type of art work you would like, the subject matter, the type of photographs and the size.  I will send you a leaflet which tells you how to take the best photo of your subject.  You don’t have to be a great photographer (your phone photos will be fine) and I promise to edit out any weeds.
2. Send me the photos, I make sure that I can work from them and then we agree on size, medium, content and approximate completion time.  Once we have agreement a deposit of 50% is paid and I begin my work.
3. On completion of your artwork I will send a photo  and final payment is made.  The artwork is then posted off to its new home.

The prices given do not include framing or postage; but framing can be negotiated if required.
